Bardic Hour

Storytellers, singers, fools, musicians and bards — share your talents and merriment with the populace at Regular Event! Bardic Hour will take place at 12:00 to 1:00 PM. in the Great Hall, the populace area on the second floor. Your songs and stories will entertain the populace as they partake in a delicious lunch.

In keeping with the event theme of “A Perfect Pairing,” we are encouraging performers to try the following challenges:

  • Pair up with another bard for a presentation that is twice as special!
  • Perform a song or story about two of anything — two lovers, cities, battles, beer bottles, you name it!
  • Sing or tell a story while playing an instrument.

Performances must be 5 minutes or less in length. Historical and SCA culture songs are both welcome, but please keep things PG-13. All participants must sign up by Monday, Feb. 17, 2020.

Send the following information to the Honorable Lady Jolicia atte Northclyfe on Facebook or via email.

  • SCA Name and Style (Title)
  • Mundane Name
  • Brief description of your performance
  • Challenge entered
  • Approximate length of performance
  • Cell phone number
A Perfect Pairing Arts & Sciences Challenge

I challenge all artists to produce an item in one of their most skilled styles with something new. Not quite a pentathlon, but a chance to dabble in a new art form.

So you spin wool? Perhaps taking the next step to felting or dying or a specific knit is going to thrill you and get your art heart singing. Anything which draws one to the arts is open for submission. Maybe try a new time period with your existing art, or a different location in the same media. Documentation is helpful but not required. Depending on volume of submissions a prize may be available for the overall best submission.

Additionally, if you would like to make a donation to Their Excellencies or Their Majesties largess it would be nice to collect any donations of art Their Excellencies could pass on as presents to visiting friends in the future. I will be assembling gift baskets to allow them to show off our talent and largess.
